Pentiment – Useful Console Commands

Welcome to this post where we will be discussing the useful console commands in Pentiment. We hope that this guide will be of great help to you.

In order to access the console commands in the Steam version, you can use the forward slash key. However, please be cautious while using these commands, as they can cause your save file to be lost. Always make a backup before using them!

Here are some useful console commands:

  • Polyglot
  • Volksbucher
  • Reformation

In Act 1, there are some background conversations that you can listen to:

In Act 2, you can have conversations with Guy about different countries:

  • Occultist
  • Naturalist (heavens of earth and heavens)

In Act 3, Magdalene has a book from Act 2 and talks about different countries:

You can use the AdvanceTimeToHour command to travel to a specific time of day. For example, to travel to 1 PM, type in “AdvanceTimeToHour131 1”. The HideHUD/ShowHUD command allows you to hide or display the HUD. The UnlockAllJournalQuests command unlocks all entries in the current quests tab of the “Journal”. Similarly, UnlockAllJournalPeople and UnlockAllGlossaryMatches unlock everyone in the “People” tab and all entries in the “Glossary” tab for the act, respectively.

Regarding game savings, they can be found at %USERPROFILE%Saved GamesPentiment. The game automatically saves in 8 slots at regular intervals. If you want to access a saved file later, simply copy/paste it. To access the autosave options, click “new game” in the main navigation and then the blue arrow next to your save file.
